Overview
[[alloc] init] develops cryptographic protocols for Bitcoin. Our primitives and metaprotocols expand what can be built on Bitcoin without changing consensus.
We're currently building Shielded Bitcoin, a non-custodial metaprotocol, bringing privacy to the Bitcoin L1. It brings financial privacy to Bitcoin without requiring users to entrust their funds to another chain, custodian or operator set.

How it fits together
PIPEs provide the cryptographic primitive. L1 vaults use PIPEs to control native BTC, encrypting the signing key behind cryptographic conditions that can be satisfied with a zero-knowledge proof. Shielded Bitcoin combines these vaults with private transfers and protocol state derived from Bitcoin L1.
